Through life lessons and various bouts of heartache, we have come to understand that relationships inevitably end. For some people, it is very easy to heal a broken heart, as if they flipped a switch and turned off all of their feelings about the person they lost.
Others struggle and mourn the love that has dissipated. It is okay to mourn, but you must do so in a way that is healthy for you, which most people have no idea how to do.
It is time to learn how to train your brain to fall out of love in a healthy way.
Accept Your Pain
The first hurdle you must overcome before you can train your brain to fall out of love is to accept the fact that you are hurt. You must work hard to convince your mind it’s okay to be sad.
The healthiest way to fall out of love is to allow yourself to mourn the loss.
Take the time you need to heal and reflect on your past relationship. You must continuously tell yourself that even though the ending was devastating, there were also good parts to the relationship.
Dig deep to find some appreciation for the person you have lost so you can begin to heal from within.
Allow yourself to be alone for a significant period of time. One mistake most people make after they get out of a relationship is they rush right back into another one.
You need to take the time to get to know yourself again, to know what you want out of a relationship. This will allow your heart to open up and learn to love again.
A crucial part in training your brain to fall out of love is to write down all of your thoughts and feelings. Doing this will help you to acknowledge the feelings instead of ignoring them. It is a way of releasing them from the brain and into your journal.
You will feel as if a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
Get To Know You Again
Once you have taken all of these steps, you can now start to be happy again. You can begin to do the things you used to enjoy and find yourself once again.
Enjoy being around your friends and family. Take the time to travel and see the world. Once you are able to focus on just you, you have trained your brain to fall out of love.
Now, the real world is in your grasp. The key to training your brain how to fall out of love is digging deep and finding the true you. The sadness and despair cover up all of the beautiful parts about you and your life becomes one big fog.
As clichéd as it sounds, you will never be able to experience the truest of loves until you love yourself.
Now that you are able to love yourself, you can be yourself. And you will be loved for the true you.
Once you have rid your body and mind of the feelings you had for your significant other, it is time to begin moving forward with your life.
You may be tempted at this point in time to throw out all of your belongings that remind you of that person. It is okay to throw some of those items out, but make sure to keep things that bring you happy thoughts.
If you are not ready to look at these items, store them away. Any item that does not have any meaning, go ahead and toss out.
Social media is a big part of our lives and one of the primary ways we communicate with other. If you are following your ex on a social media site, it is time to unfriend or unfollow them.
If you do not do so, you may be tempted to spy on them and get back into old habits. This is a crucial part of brain training because you must take this time to focus on you and no one else.
Since you have now cut them out of your social media circle, it is now time to cut them out of your everyday life. Don’t call, text or “accidentally” bump into them somewhere.
Until you have completely fallen out of love, it is best not to place yourself in those vulnerable situations. You should also cut out mutual friends for the time being, as well.
